MANILA, Philippines — Agents from the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have arrested four South Koreans wanted by Seoul authorities for involvement in telecommunications fraud.

The BI said on Monday that the fugitives were arrested during separate operations in Mabalacat, Pampanga, and Taguig City last week.

They were identified as Won Jin-chul, 40; Shim Jae-yong, 28; Kwon Hyu-nil, 32; and Cha Jun-young, 25.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the four Koreans were allegedly members of a voice phishing syndicate that defrauded their compatriots. The four are being held at the BI’s detention center in Bicutan, Taguig.
