DAGUPAN CITY––All public and private cemeteries in this city will be closed from Oct. 28 to Nov. 3 to avoid mass gatherings during All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

In an executive order, Mayor Brian Lim said the move is a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.

As of Thursday, the city’s active cases had reached 800, which health authorities linked to the presence of the more contagious Delta variant.

Lim encouraged residents to schedule their visits to the cemeteries ahead of the “undas” season.

But he said the cemetery would be open during the same period only to allow burial and cremation. INQ
