SUBIC BAY FREEPORT––One of the most wanted persons in Zambales province was arrested inside this free port, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) said on Wednesday, Aug. 4.

In a statement, SBMA said the suspect, Jomar Mayo, 37, was located on July 30 while working in a company at the Subic Techno Park. Mayo is facing rape charges.

Investigators said Mayo, a native of Barangay Guisguis in Sta. Cruz town worked as a forklift operator at the G-1 Boton Area of Juken Sangyo Philippines Corp., a Subic-registered business locator.

He was arrested by virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Josefina Farrales of the Regional Trial Court Branch 69 in Iba town, also in Zambales.

Mayo is charged with rape in relation to Republic Act 7610, the act providing for stronger deterrence and special protection against child abuse, exploitation, and discrimination.

The warrant of arrest has no recommended bail, authorities said.
