2 farmers slain in Benguet gun attack

A 59-year-old man is left fighting for his life after he was shot by his drinking buddy in Tanauan City, Batangas

BAGUIO CITY—Two farmers were killed by still unidentified gunmen on Wednesday (July 7) morning in Kapangan town, Benguet province.

The Kapangan Municipal Police Station said the victims were on board their vegetable truck when assailants ambushed them around 5:30 a.m. along the Gov. Bado Dangwa Road in Sitio Nalbengan, Barangay Cuba.

The two victims were identified as Eliterio Sacla Licudan, 47, of Barangay Sagpat, in Kibungan town, also in Benguet, and Jerick Lidama, 25, of Bindoy town, Negros Oriental.

Police have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
