‘Habagat’ to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms in NCR, other areas in Luzon — Pagasa
MANILA, Philippines —”Habagat” or the southwest monsoon will continue to affect several areas in the country, including Metro Manila in Luzon on Tuesday, bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms, the state weather bureau said.
Cloudy skies and more consistent rain, should also be expected in Zambales, Palawan, and Mindoro provinces, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Dito naman sa nalalabing bahagi ng Luzon, kasama ang Metro Manila, magiging maaliwalas pa rin ang ating panahon ngunit may posibilidad pa rin ng panandaliang buhos ng ulan at mga isolated thunderstorms,” Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza in a morning weather bulletin.
(For the rest of Luzon, including Metro Manila, our weather will still be clear but there will still be occasional rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms.)

Meanwhile, the low pressure area (LPA) located within the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone, or ITCZ, will also continue to affect eastern Visayas, causing cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms in Tacloban.
The LPA was last located 285 kilometers east southeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
The rest of Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will have fairly sunny weather with occasional scattered thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Pagasa also said no gale warning has been raised in the country’s coasts.
“Kaya’t ligtas pa rin makakapalaot ang ating mga kababayan saan mang baybaying dagat po ng ating bansa (our countrymen can still sail safely anywhere along the coasts of our country),” said Mendoza.
