In a two-page request filed late Wednesday, the prosecution also requested Dante Jimenez, founder of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, to testify before the Senate on February 14.
Vizconde claimed that it was in that meeting that Corona supposedly told him about the alleged efforts of Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio to pressure colleagues to vote for the acquittal of Hubert Webb, who was acquitted in December 2010 for the 1991 murders of Vizconde’s wife, and two daughters.
Jimenez allegedly knew about that meeting.
Vizconde’s allegation was part of Article 3 of the impeachment complaint filed against Corona pertaining to his alleged lack of proven “competence, integrity, probity and independence” in handling certain cases.
