MANILA, Philippines — The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has approved the Department of Tourism’s (DOT) proposal to build a temporary vaccination center on a vacant lot of the Nayong Pilipino Foundation (NPF) in Parañaque City.

The NPF is an attached agency of the DOT.

“This is expected to be a game changer in the vaccination program,” Tourism Secretary Bernadette Puyat said.

“We are hoping that in 40 days we will have a temporary mega vaccination drive-thru facility in the remaining portion of the Nayong Pilipino,” she added during an online press briefing. The facility is expected to vaccinate at least 12,000 people a day, she said.
