Magnitude 4.0 quake hits Agusan del Sur

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Agusan del Sur on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.

Phivolcs said the temblor was recorded at 7:45 a.m., with the epicenter located seven kilometers southeast of San Francisco in Agusan del Sur.

The quake of tectonic origin had a depth of eight kilometers, said Phivolcs.

Phivolcs said Intensity IV was recorded in the towns of San Francisco and Rosario in Agusan del Sur. Despite this, no damage and aftershocks may be expected following the quake.
