Dacera case suspects file slew of countersuits

Respondents in Dacera case hoping for early resolution of case

Five of the 11 respondents in the death of 23-year-old Christine Dacera on Wednesday filed a slew of countersuits against her family and the police. Suspects Rommel Galido, John Paul de la Serna III, Gregorio Angelo, Rafael de Guzman, Jazreel Rapinan and Alain Chen filed two sets of complaints at the Makati City prosecutors for perjury, libel, cyberlibel, malicious prosecution, incriminating innocent persons, intriguing against honor, and slander. Named respondents were Sharon Dacera, the mother of Christine; Marichi Ramos, the doctor friend of Dacera family; Katherine Anne Facelo, cousin of Christine; lawyer Brick Reyes, the Dacera family spokesperson; Makati police investigators Cpl. Louie Lopez and Staff Sgt. Louie Alimurong, as well as Capt. Danilo Oamil and Col. Harold Depositar, the Makati police chief. —DEXTER CABALZA
