LUCENA CITY –– A female pedestrian died after a truck hit her along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca town in Quezon province on Monday.
The Quezon police said in a report on Tuesday that the unidentified woman was 30 to 35 years old and a beggar.
She was hit by a Manila-bound truck while crossing the highway in Barangay Calumanguin around 8:30 p.m.
The victim suffered grave injuries and died on the spot.
The police took the truck driver, Chris Ryan Hernandez, into custody for investigation and possible filing of charges.
