4,899 new COVID-19 cases bring PH’s total to 621,498

MANILA, Philippines – The Department of Health (DOH) on Sunday reported 4,899 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the Philippines’ total to 621,498.

Apart from this, the DOH also reported 13,371 additional recoveries, driving the total to 560,512.

Meanwhile, there were also 63 new fatalities, boosting the death toll to 12,829.

Of the new cases, 91.8 percent are mild, 4.2 percent are asymptomatic, 1.6 percent are critical, 1.6 percent are severe and 0.8 percent are moderate.

There were 12 duplicates, of which nine were recoveries, removed from the total case count, the DOH said.

“Moreover, 16 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the DOH added.
