MANILA, Philippines — The government has allowed more foreigners with visas to enter the Philippines beginning Feb. 16, further easing border restrictions.
But tourists are still not allowed in the country unless they have exemptions, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.
The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases allowed the entry of foreign nationals with visas issued as of March 20, 2020, and still valid at the time of entry, and who were not permitted to enter the country previously.
Also allowed are holders of valid and existing special resident and retirees visa and Section 9(A) or temporary visitor visas as long as they present an entry exemption document to the Bureau of Immigration upon arrival.
Roque said foreign nationals must have prebooked accommodation for at least six nights in an accredited quarantine hotel. They will be tested for the new coronavirus on the sixth day after arrival, he said.
