CITY OF ILAGAN—Isabela has recorded 80 cases of the novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the last two days, prompting authorities to tighten checkpoints at the province’s borders.
Records from the provincial health office showed that 56 new COVID-19 cases were registered on Wednesday (Jan. 27) and 24 cases on Thursday (Jan. 28), raising the total in the province to 418.
The new cases were mostly from the province’s three cities and the towns of San Isidro, San Mariano, Gamu, San Mateo and Tumauini.
Among the cases are those of an overseas Filipino worker, seven individuals not authorized to leave their residence, 32 health workers, 39 policemen and 399 local transmission cases.
Isabela recorded 4,105 COVID-19 cases since 2020 with 3,616 recoveries and 71 deaths.
