MANILA, Philippines — Congressmen pushed for an investigation of the delay in the Philippine National Police’s body camera project which was allotted P334 million in 2018.

In House Resolution No. 1480, leftist lawmakers questioned why the project was still “in process” although the PNP had already chosen the winning bidder in 2019.

The body cameras were supposed to be delivered between April and May 2020 but then PNP chief Gen. Archie Gamboa claimed the delivery was delayed by the pandemic. —NESTOR CORRALES
