MANILA, Philippines — The infection of 1,357 more people with COVID-19 pushed the Philippines’ total caseload to 504,804 as of Tuesday, the Department of Health (DOH) said.

This while 324 patients recovered from the disease as 69 others died, according to the health agency, driving total recoveries to 466,249, and fatalities to 9,978.

Of the sum COVID-19 cases nationwide, 27,857 are tagged as “active” of which 86.1 percent are mild, 6.1 percent asymptomatic, 4.7 percent critical, 2.7 percent severe, and 0.42 percent moderate.

DOH said it adjusted its data to reflect the removal of seven duplicates, including six recoveries.

Two cases were also validated to have negative results and, thus, removed from the total case count, it added.

“Moreover, 56 cases that were previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” DOH said.
