3 suspected drug pushers fall in Lucena drug busts

The group Bayan Muna decried that one of its organizers was arrested, while the Philippine National Police reported one officer was hurt due to tension at a Bonifacio Day protest along Recto Avenue in Manila.

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested three suspected drug pushers, including a “high-value target,” in early operations here Saturday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said operatives nabbed Vincent Yap, 41, after he sold a pack of shabu (crystal meth) to a police agent in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay around 9:30 a.m.

Authorities seized five plastic sachets of shabu worth P13,870 in the street market.

Earlier, policemen also busted Jenelyn Vallejo and Alexander Lamping, both 23 years old, in another sting operation in Barangay Ibabang Iyam around 6:55 a.m. The two suspects yielded shabu with a street value of P17,950.

Police tagged Lamping, a leader of his own drug group as a “high-value target.”
