Cops seize P34-M worth of shabu in Caloocan drug sting; 1 arrested

Seven suspected drug peddlers were arrested while more than P15.8 million worth of "shabu" and smuggled cigarettes were seized in three separate anti-crime operations in Cebu City and Zamboanga City.

MANILA, Philippines — Police seized an estimated P34-million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation Thursday dawn in Caloocan City.

Authorities arrested a certain Uriel Hewe Jr. at his residence in Barangay 179, after selling one piece of ice plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu to police who posed as a buyer, a spot report said.

Police used 138 fake P1,000 bills and 2 marked P1,000 bills in the operation.

Police seized an approximate 5 kilos and 100 grams of shabu worth P34.7 million in vacuum-sealed plastic bags and tea bags, a pistol, live ammunition and cash. [ac]
