MANILA, Philippines — The contingent of the Philippine National Police’s Special Action Force was pulled out of New Bilibid Prison last week, but the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) claimed the public had nothing to worry about as it had enough manpower to guard the more than 28,000 inmates.

The last 40 police commandos formally ended their tour of duty after more than four years at the prison, Gabriel Chaclag, the BuCor spokesperson, said in an interview. —DEXTER CABALZA
