2 nabbed with P10.2M worth of crystal meth

Seven suspected drug peddlers were arrested while more than P15.8 million worth of "shabu" and smuggled cigarettes were seized in three separate anti-crime operations in Cebu City and Zamboanga City.

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police on Friday said it arrested two high-value targets during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Ugong, Valenzuela City.

During the raid, operatives recovered 1.5 kilograms of crystal meth or “shabu” worth P10.2 million. Arrested were Ernesto Magalang Francisco and Genelyn de la Torre Mararac.

The National Capital Region Police Office acting chief Police Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr. said the two were “key players” of a drug distribution network operating in northern Metro Manila. —Patricia Denise M. Chiu
