Cloudy Friday with isolated rain showers in Luzon — Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon or “amihan” and the tail-end of a frontal system will bring rains to Northern and Central Luzon on Friday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The weather bureau, in its  4 a.m. bulletin, reported that Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Rizal, Quezon, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Camarines provinces will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the tail-end of a frontal system.

Meanwhile, the Ilocos region, the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of the Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon.

The northeast monsoon will also bring cloudy skies with rains to the rest of Central Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms, according to Pagasa.

LPA alert

Pagasa is currently monitoring a low-pressure area (LPA) last spotted 1,630 kilometers east of Mindanao and outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

Pagasa weather specialist Samuel Duran said the LPA is less likely to intensify within the next 24 hours.

“Sa ngayon ay wala pa naman itong direktang epekto sa ating bansa. Napakalayo pa, ngunit patuloy po natin itong babantayan dahil nasa karagatan pa ito. Within 24 hours ay mababa pa naman ang tsansa na maging ganap na bagyo,” he said.

Metro Manila: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius Baguio City: 16 to 23 degrees Celsius Laoag City:  24 to 29 degrees Celsius Tuguegarao: 23 to 27 degrees Celsius Legazpi City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius Puerto Princesa City: 26 to 33 degrees Celsius Kalayaan Islands: 26 to 32 degrees Celsius Iloilo City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius Cebu City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius Cagayan De Oro City: 23 to 32 degrees Celsius Zamboanga City: 24 to 32 degrees Celsius Davao City: 25 to 33 degrees Celsius
