10 Bohol islanders test positive for COVID-19

TAGBILARAN CITY –– Ten residents of Maomawan Island in Bien Unido town in Bohol tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the Bohol Inter-Agency Task Force said the new cases were locally transmitted.
Lopez said a resident was recently admitted to the Don Emilio Del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay town for fever, cough, and difficulty in breathing.
He was eventually found positive for the virus.
During the contact tracing, nine residents, who had close contact with the patient, also got the virus.
A granular lockdown was implemented in Purok 5 on the island to prevent the spread of the virus.
“The virus is still in the environment,” said Lopez, who asked residents to follow the minimum health protocols.
As of Monday, Nov. 9, Bohol has 585 COVID-19 cases, including 110 active ones, 11 deaths, and 464 recoveries.
