Gang members arrested in Manila buy-bust

Seven suspected drug peddlers were arrested while more than P15.8 million worth of "shabu" and smuggled cigarettes were seized in three separate anti-crime operations in Cebu City and Zamboanga City.

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected members of “Bahala Na” gang, who are also included in the government´s drug watchlist, were arrested in a buy bust operation in the city of Manila Sunday.

In a police report on Monday, police said it conducted an operation in San Andres Bukid wherein they arrested suspected drug pushers Gerald Agustin, 36, and May Junio, 33.

Confiscated from the suspects were three sachets of suspected crystal meth or “shabu” which have an estimated value of P81,600. Also seized from the suspects was a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

Police said the suspects are currently held in custody for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. — (Miggy Dumlao, trainee)
