MANILA, Philippines — The number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) confirmed cases in the House of Representatives is now at 62 after two more employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

House Secretary-General Jose Luis Montales said Thursday that the two new cases are from the chamber’s engineering department and are close contacts of a confirmed case who is also from the same department.

They last went to work on Aug. 24 and 25.

At present, 15 confirmed cases in the House are considered active.

“Contact tracing is ongoing,” Montales said.
