House logs 40th COVID-19 case

MANILA, Philippines — A congressional staff has tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases in the House of Representatives to 40.

House Secretary General Jose Luis Montales said the staff last went to the House on March 11 and developed symptoms after taking care of a family member who got infected.

Health protocols are being implemented at the House such as holding of online or hybrid hearings and sessions to ensure that social distancing is being practiced. [ac]
