Pagasa: LPA off Palawan expected to exit PAR; isolated rain showers due

MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) west of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today, Thursday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration.

In its 5 a.m. weather forecast, Pagasa said the LPA was last located 435 kilometers west southwest of Puerto Princesa City.

“Posible ngayong araw ay lumabas na ito ng Philippine Area of Responsibility,” Pagasa weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said.

(The LPA may exit PAR today.)

The trough or extension of the LPA, however,  is expected to bring cloudy skies along with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Quezon, the Mimaropa and Bicol regions, Visayas and Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms,  Bulquerin added.
