MANILA, Philippines—Body of a dead man was found before dawn Thursday sprawled across the floor of a mini gymnasium in Agusan del Norte, police said Friday.
Superintendent Martin Gamba, Caraga police spokesman, identified the victim as Alfredo Plaza, more or less 60 years old and a resident of Barangay (village) Ong Yiu in Butuan City.
He said that Plaza was found inside the gymnasium in Sitio Tinago, Barangay (village) Malabao, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte around 3:57 a.m. Thursday.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim may have died instantly after falling from a bleacher, he said.
Cadaver of the victim was brought to Gomez Funeral Parlor, Nasipit, Agusan del Norte for proper disposition while further investigation is still being conducted by authorities, Gamba said.
