MANILA, Philippines — Chinese businessman Kam Sin Wong or Kim Wong has donated 23,000 test kits and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the uniformed services of the Philippines amid a shortage of these items as battles are being fought against COVID-19 worldwide.

National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. received the donations in a ceremonial turnover at Camp Aguinaldo on Wednesday (April 1), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said in a statement.

The PCG received 2,000 of the rapid test kits. The rest will be distributed to the Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy and V. Luna General Hospital for the use of health workers on the frontline and those being watched for the disease.
