Notorious ‘weed’ peddler falls in Lucena sting

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday announced the apprehension of a colorum operator, who also happened to be a relative of Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr.

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a ranking drug personality in a buy-bust operation here early Saturday.

Lieutenant Colonel Romulo Albacea, Lucena police chief, said operatives from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)  collared Kristoffer Manlangit, 34, after he sold marijuana or “weed” to an undercover police officer in a transaction in Barangay (village) 11 around 2 a.m.

Authorities seized eight plastic sachets of dried marijuana leaves weighing a total of 37 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board price of P4,440.

The suspect, known as a notorious “weed” trafficker, was tagged as ranked number six in the watch list of drug personalities in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon region.

The suspect was detained at the city police jail and is facing charges of violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
