2 suspected drug pushers nabbed in Quezon busts

Seven suspected drug peddlers were arrested while more than P15.8 million worth of "shabu" and smuggled cigarettes were seized in three separate anti-crime operations in Cebu City and Zamboanga City.

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – Police arrested two suspected drug pushers in separate buy-bust operations in Candelaria town in Quezon province, police said.

Local drug enforcement unit collared tricycle driver Isagani Pagcaliwagan, 39, after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Pahinga Norte at about 3 a.m. Tuesday, Colonel Audio Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report.

Authorities seized P2,240 worth of shabu from the suspect.

Earlier, anti-illegal drug operatives also busted Sherwin Predilla, 39, in another sting operation in Barangay Mangilag Sur around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Predilla yielded shabu valued at P3,740 in the streets.

The suspects are now detained at the local police station jail and are facing charges for violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
