Cavite-Laguna Expressway seen to ease Southern Luzon traffic

The operator of the Cavite Laguna Expressway (Calax) will start collecting toll fees on opened sections of the toll road starting Feb. 10 this year, with value added tax-inclusive rates of P47 for Class 1 vehicles (ordinary cars), P95 for Class 2 vehicles (buses and small commercial trucks) and P143 for Class 3 vehicles (large trucks or trailers) from motorists.

The section stretches 10.7 kilometers from the South Luzon Expressway Mamplasan Interchange to Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

The Calax section became fully operational in the last week of December 2019, although toll was not immediately imposed. —Miguel R. Camus
