Manila City Hall employees will soon get some relief from high-interest lenders as the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) makes its financial assistance loan program available to them.

On its website, the state-run pension fund said that GSIS chair Rolando L. Macasaet signed an agreement on Tuesday with Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso that “[would] allow city hall employees to transfer their loans from other lending institutions to the GSIS at a lower interest rate and amortization and longer payment term.” —Ben O. de Vera
