Maguindano massacre suspect with P300K bounty arrested

Seven suspected drug peddlers were arrested while more than P15.8 million worth of "shabu" and smuggled cigarettes were seized in three separate anti-crime operations in Cebu City and Zamboanga City.

MANILA, Philippines — One of the suspects in the gruesome Maguindanao massacre incident was arrested at the boundary of Sultan Kudarat and Maguindanao province on Monday.

Police identified the suspect as Police Officer 1 Suari Esmail Pagabangan, also known as PO1 Alfie Pabangan.

Police said Pagabangan was arrested at about 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 27, after operatives from the Police Regional Office 12 raided his safe house which is located at the boundary of Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat and Sultan Sa Barongis, Maguindanao.

The arrest was a result of a week-long intelligence-driven operation after police received information that Pagabangan was seen in Sultan Kudarat.

Pagabangan, who carries a P300,000 bounty, will be turned over to the National Capital Judicial Region, Branch 221 in Quezon City which has jurisdiction over his case.
