IS Joavan Fernandez turning a new leaf?

Rep. Eduardo Gullas of Cebu’s 1st  district said he hopes  Joavan can sustain his apparent renewal.

After being involved in various law enforcement controversies, the adopted son of Talisay City Mayor Socrates Fernandez has been seen in civic projects like a feeding program for 200 children in Talisay city.

“It remains to be seen (if Joavan has truly changed). Only events teach us,” said Congressman Gullas who repeated his  call for Joavan to undergo drug rehabilitation.

Gullas said he is praying that Joavan will be transformed.

“I’m an optimist. I hope he will continue (the good deeds he make).  I’m not prepared to make a definitive, judgmental declaration if he has changed,” he said.

2 SUICIDES

TWO persons were found dead in apparent cases of suicide in  Cebu.

Daisy Delicora, 41, was found by her husband hanging by the neck inside their house in barangay Guindaruhan, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

The woman was found suspended from the ceiling of a room with a belt tied around her neck.

The husband untied his wife and tried to revive her to no avail.

In barangay Binabag, Bogo City, northern Cebu, Bernardo Tabaco, 40, was found in his room with a nylon rope tied around his neck.

Police said it was the man’s wife who found him hanging from the ceiling.
