GMA Network to appeal P890,000 fine

MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network has asked Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III to annul and reverse the order issued by a regional labor official imposing an administrative fine of P890,000 on the TV network and several others over the accident which led to the death of actor Eddie Garcia.

In a statement sent to the Inquirer on Monday, GMA confirmed it had received a copy of the Dec. 2 order issued by the Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) National Capital Region office.

“GMA will proceed with the necessary steps as soon as the Dole resolves its appeal,”it said.
