3.2 quake jolts Eastern Visayas

TACLOBAN CITY –– A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was felt in Eastern Visayas with the epicenter traced to General MacArthur town in Eastern Samar at 2:22 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17.

The tectonic-origin jolt has a depth of 056 kilometers, reports of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.

The quake was also felt in Borongan City in Eastern Samar at Intensity 3 and Palo, Leyte at Intensity 2.

The Phivolcs said it did not expect any aftershocks or damage due to the tremor./lzb
