MANILA, Philippines — With over 8,000 aspiring lawyers set to take the last part of the 2019 bar examinations this Sunday, the Manila Police District (MPD) said it will enforce tighter security measures and will implement a traffic rerouting scheme around the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in Sampaloc, Manila.

The MPD said enhanced security is needed as the last day of examinations “will be filled with festive atmosphere.”

Based on its rerouting plan, the west-bound portion of España Boulevard will be closed to traffic from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The bar examinations are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12 noon and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The MPD has advised the public to take alternative routes and avoid the vicinity of UST during the last day of the bar examinations.

Motorists headed for the west-bound portion of España, may turn right to A.H. Lacson, left to Laong Laan and A. Mendoza en route to their destination.

The MPD also reminded motorists that the vicinity of UST is a no parking zone on Sunday.
