MANILA, Philippines – The meeting between Vice President Leni Robredo and officials of the various offices forming the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) law enforcement cluster commenced on Thursday.

Robredo was seen walking with Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa towards the meeting area, where other officials from the Department of Interior and Local Government, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Dangerous Drugs Board, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines are waiting for them.

The Vice President and her spokesperson previously said that one of the topics they would discuss with the said cluster is the possibility of crafting a new campaign that would replace Oplan Tokhang — the PNP’s prime program against illegal drugs.

She claimed that the campaign, which literally means to knock and plead, has reached a level of notoriety as it is equated to “senseless killings.”   /muf
