2 suspected ‘shabu’ peddlers fall in Quezon drug sting

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday announced the apprehension of a colorum operator, who also happened to be a relative of Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr.

LUCENA CITY — Two suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Sariaya and Tiaong towns in Quezon province on Thursday, police said.

Anti-illegal drugs operatives collared Benedict Robles, 32, after he sold “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Lalig, Tiaong around 9:45 p.m.

Seized from the suspect were three sachets of shabu worth P2,090 in the street market.

In Sariaya, policemen busted Jeric Gutierrez, 38, in a drug sting in Barangay Lutucan Malabag at 3:10 p.m.

Gutierrez yielded two sachets of shabu worth P1,815 in drug users market. Delfin T. Mallari Jr./lzb
