MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte ordered a crackdown on spas and massage parlors in the city after a massage parlor was found to have been prostituting women via social media on Friday.

City hall was preparing a raft of charges against Dragon Spa on E. Rodriguez Avenue that was found to have been trafficking women age 27 to 36 through online bookings.

Belmonte said the city’s business permit and licensing department identified around 100 spas in the city that offer “extra services” through social media. —Mariejo S. Ramos
