Riot breaks out at Manila City Jail

MANILA, Philippines — A riot broke out at the Manila City Jail on Sunday morning, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said.

BJMP spokesperson C/Insp. Xavier Solda said the riot was between the members of ‘Batang City Jail’ and Sputnik Gang who are detained inside the Manila City Jail.

The riot was immediately pacified, Solda said.

Solda said the riot resulted in 34 individuals sustaining injuries, all of whom are already receiving medical attention. /je
