2 crime suspects dead in Rizal shootout

SAN PEDRO CITY — Two suspected criminals were killed in a buy bust operation in Cainta, Rizal, authorities said on Wednesday.

The slain suspects were identified as Romeo Rayoso and his companion identified only as alias Mac.

Rayoso was allegedly a member of the criminal gang “highway boys” in Cainta involved in robberies, drug dealing, and abductions.

A report from the Calabarzon police office said the buy-bust happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday along Westbank Road in Barangay San Andres.

The suspects suddenly opened fire leading to a police chase towards a nearby swamp.

According to the police, Rayoso was the first one they hit. Rayoso

fell to the ground and was brought to a hospital but was dead on arrival.

Shortly after that, the police found Mac, who turned out was also hit during the initial shootout. Mac also died on the way to a hospital.

Police said they recovered a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and two guns from the shootout scene.

They found three more sachets of suspected drugs from Rayoso’s belongings. Maricar Cinco /lzb
