MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was shot dead by a lone gunman in Taguig City Thursday night.
In its report released Friday, the Taguig City Police identified the 31-year-old victim as Pat. Ralph Aquino, who was assigned at the Police Community Precinct 8 of the city police.
Police said Aquino was shot in the head by a still unidentified gunman in Barangay Bagumbayan at about 10:00 p.m.
Aquino died on the spot, police said.
The case is still under investigation, said police. /muf
