Army, NPA clash even in casualty figures

CAGAYAN DE ORO—Communist guerrillas and government soldiers clashed anew in the boundaries of Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon provinces early on Sunday (Aug 11).

The military said two rebels were killed.

But New People’s Army said it suffered no casualty and successfully repelled soldiers who had tried to penetrate rebel territory.

The rebels had safely pulled out of the area, NPA said.

A certain “Roxanne” talking on behalf of the NPA’s Mt. Kitanglad Command, said one soldier was dead and four wounded.
