MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Friday afternoon lifted the number coding scheme as government work and classes in the National Capital Region were suspended due to heavy rains.

This means that vehicles with license plates ending in “9” and “0” may already ply major roads in Metro Manila.

MMDA’s order, however, exempts Makati City.

“MMDA ADVISORY: The Number Coding is LIFTED as of 3:00 PM today August 9, 2019. Except Makati City,” the agency said in a Twitter post.
