MANILA, Philippines – Some local governments have announced the suspension of classes in Luzon on Monday, July 1, 2019 due to expected rain showers spawned by Tropical Depression Egay.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said “Egay” was last spotted 195 kilometers east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan.

It has a maximum sustained wind speed of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 60 kph.
It was moving northwest at 40 kph.
