ORMOC CITY – A former member of the Philippine Army’s Civilian Army Auxilliary (CAA) was shot dead Saturday afternoon in Barangay Quirino Poblacion, Las Navas, Northern Samar.
Police Lt. Col. Bella Rentuaya, spokesperson of the Eastern Visayas Police Regional Office, identified the victim as Amancio Perez.
Initial investigation showed that Perez was doing work in a drainage canal when he was shot by the unidentified gunman.
The killer sped off on a motorcycle after the attack.
Further investigation and pursuit operations against the suspect are ongoing. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
