MMDA lifts number coding for Eid’l Fitr

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday said it has so far recorded a total of 44,493 vehicular accidents in Metro Manila as of July.

MANILA, Philippines — The “number coding” scheme or the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) in Metro Manila is lifted for Eid’l Fitr on Wednesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Manila (MMDA) said on Tuesday.

MMDA Spokesperson Celine Pialago confirmed the suspension of the UVVRP on that day to INQUIRER.net.

Pialago added that “number coding” is also suspended in Makati city. However, as of this posting, Las Piñas City has yet to issue an advisory on the suspension of the “number coding” on Wednesday.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier announced that Eid’l Fitr which marks the end of Ramadan is a non-working holiday. (Editor: Mike U. Frialde)
