MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) has released more than P6 million for the midyear bonus of its 195,561 uniformed and non-uniformed personnel.

Brig. Gen. Joselito Vera Cruz of PNP Finance Service released funds worth P6,388,730,726 to pay for the bonus that is equivalent to one-month basic salary.

Vera Cruz said the bonus had been credited to individual Land Bank of the Philippines payroll accounts of its duty personnel on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Vera Cruz said the bonus for police officers facing administrative and criminal cases will be deferred.

PNP spokesperson Col. Bernard Banac said the release of the bonus sought to bolster the morale of its personnel. (Editor: Eden Estopace)
