MANILA, Philippines— Senate employees can resume work on Wednesday as its building was declared safe after a magnitude 6.1 quake.

“Senate building is safe,” Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto said in a text message.

“All employees are allowed to work tom (tomorrow). There will be work at the Senate tom (tomorrow),” he added.

Recto is the officer in charge in the upper chamber while Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III is abroad.
