MAGSAYSAY, DAVAO DEL SUR – Amid debates on the wisdom of legalizing marijuana for medical purposes, a 35-year old bread vendor was arrested here for peddling marijuana.

Chief Insp. Ivan Samoraga, Magsaysay police chief, on Thursday said Julito Lucion Aday, a resident of Barangay Glamang, was arrested at around 9a.m. during an anti-illegal drugs operation conducted by the police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

He said dried marijuana leaves were confiscated from the suspect.

Samoraga said Aday will be charged with violation of R.A. 9165 or the Anti-Illegal Drugs Act.
